Custom European License Plate (Authentic German Euro Style)
Create your own authentic German license plate featuring your custom text. Whether you need a novelty plate for your show car, a unique gift, or a replacement for a European bumper, these plates are pressed on the exact same machines used in Germany today.
The "Real Deal" Difference
Unlike cheap printed plastic imitations, our plates are embossed (stamped) on 100% aluminum blanks. We use authentic 3M reflective sheeting—the same high-visibility material required by the German government for road safety.
Authentic Material: Rust-free aluminum with 3M reflective white background.
Real Embossing: Your text is hydraulically stamped raised up from the metal, then hot-stamped with black ink.
Correct Sizing: Standard European dimensions (520mm x 110mm / approx 20.5" x 4.3").
Technical Specs & Education
The Font: FE-Schrift
We use the official FE-Schrift typeface (Fälschungserschwerende Schrift), which has been the mandatory standard in Germany since November 2000.
Why it matters: This "forgery-impeding" font was designed so that a letter (like P) cannot be easily altered into another letter (like R) with black tape. If your custom plate uses the old blocky font (DIN 1451), it is historically accurate only for cars registered before 2000.
The Blue "D" Strip
The blue field on the left is the standard EU country identifier. The "D" stands for Deutschland (Germany), and the circle of stars represents the European Union.
Understanding the Layout
To make your plate look 100% authentic to a specific German city, follow this format:
District Code (1-3 letters): The first letters represent the city. (e.g., M for Munich, B for Berlin, S for Stuttgart).
Seals (Optional): The two round stickers go here. The top is the TÜV (safety inspection) and the bottom is the Landeswappen (state registration seal).
Random String: 1 or 2 letters followed by 1 to 4 numbers.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I mount a European plate on a US car?
European plates are longer and narrower than American plates. You generally cannot use your existing US holes. We recommend using our Universal Mounting Frame, which screws into your US bumper, allowing the German plate to snap securely into place without drilling the plate itself.
Is this a "Zoll" plate?
No. This is a standard registration plate (Euro-Kennzeichen). A "Zoll" (Customs) plate typically features a red band on the right side and is used for exporting vehicles. (We sell those separately!)
